Named for the wild nature of the Alp mountains
Lebarde is the name of a resort in the west of Georgia, the land of ancient Colchis and home of our founder, Maia Gigiberia. The name stands for the wild nature of the Alp mountains.
A cream made for her own skin
Lebarde was founded in 2019 by Maia Gigiberia. Maia is from the west of Georgia, ancient Colchis. She grew up in a family of pharmacists and was curious about healthy living from childhood.
The idea came when Maia solved her own skin problem. Her skin was very sensitive and she could not use products with synthetics or artificial chemicals. Natural and organic products did not help either. She was offered expensive dermatological procedures, turned down every injection, and set about making her own cream.
Using only natural, clean ingredients, she solved it. From a unique combination of honeybee products and endemic plants from the alpine zone of ancient Georgia, she created a formula suitable for all skin types.
Maia was inspired by her ancestor Medea, daughter of the king of Colchis, who according to legend invented the first natural cosmetics and medicines in the 12th century BC.
The word “medicine” is linked to her name. Maia researched botany and cosmetology, studied the flora and the life of bees, and created a truly effective cream. She enjoyed it so much that she turned the hobby into a business, to represent the beauty heritage of ancient Georgia, Colchis.

Georgia, where the first bees were buzzing
Bees have been called the most important living beings on Earth. Georgia is the country where the first bees were buzzing, and archaeologists found the oldest honey there.
The Caucasian honeybee comes from the high valleys of the Central Caucasus, and Georgia is its central homeland. The Georgian bee has won three gold medals at international events. The Georgian Gold Bee has the longest proboscis of any honeybee on earth, so it reaches nectar deep inside flowers where no other bee can.

Georgia is the home of the Caucasus mountains, and its mountains have a very rich flora. Unique flora, a diverse climate and unpolluted land make it possible to produce clean, natural products.
